About me
Welcome to my world!
Hi my friend,
Just a note about my life journey–
Lyme disease robbed me of my health, but by the grace of God, it couldn’t touch my spirit. When I got sick in the early 2000’s, I was forced to retire from a successful thirty-year career as an interior designer.
Confined to bed and in severe pain, I think I might have lost my mind had I not started writing. It literally saved my life. It gave me a purpose to keep living, to keep dreaming.
In my stories, I write about women who overcome difficult circumstances drawing from my own dark days. Now, I can write a new chapter, propped up on pillows, and be happy as a little clam. What the enemy meant for evil, God used for good.
Life is hard, but God is good. It’s my passion to help and encourage other women to be overcomers, resilient and to choose to live a life full of joy regardless of their circumstances.

Tears in My Gumbo
When I'm not writing, I love to cook. However, this wasn't my day.(I should have kept on writing.) NEVERTHELESS, this is an AMAZING truly authentic New Orleans gumbo recipe. A few weeks ago, Mical and I had a gumbo-making day. Because we live in New Orleans, we can...
Chicken Paws?!

Truth is Stranger Than Fiction
While scouring through hundreds of articles and squinting to read 150 -year--old newspaper accounts like those above, I found the most profound and concise information in an obscure document written by doctorate student, Hyejung Grace Kong, in Seoul, Korea. Below are...
New Orleans- Our Fascinating World
I love history! That’s one of the reasons I love living in New Orleans so much. My most recent book is set here. The first one I wrote was a Biblical fiction set in 49AD. I had to imagine what the ancient cities of Athens and Ephesus looked like two thousand years...
The Tricky Task of Diagnosing Lyme-My Journey
On a summer day in 1998, I had no idea my life would change dramatically by something as small as a pin head. That night while I was taking a bath, I noticed a tiny brown tick on my stomach. We lived in North Louisiana on acreage. Our Sheltie romped in the...
Lyme-the Second Time; One Woman’s Journey
Well, my late-stage or chronic Lyme is back. Two weeks ago I had another chest port placed. I am again on IV antibiotics and expect to be for the next six months to a year. Because Lyme is now at epidemic proportions here in the South (it was first only in the...
